Plans and approval

How a plan for agents is submitted, approved, and approved again after it changes.

This feature is in beta. If you do not see it, ask your admin to turn it on for your organization.

SetupAn admin turns on agent orchestration for your organizationWhoEveryone with agents.view sees the Agents page. Leads, executives and owners approve and review.Roles

No agent works on anything until a person approves it. A plan is a milestone (the named goal tasks belong to) whose tasks are meant for agents.

A plan can come from a person or from an AI client.

  • When an AI client creates a milestone or submits a plan while agent orchestration is on, the milestone is marked as a plan for agents unless it says otherwise.
  • Submitting only asks for approval. It never approves anything.

Plans waiting for you appear on the Agents page under Needs you and in Decisions, as Plans to approve.

  1. Open the plan with Review plan to see its tasks.
  2. Choose Approve. The confirmation reads “You are vouching for the current title, description and acceptance criteria.”
  3. Every task in the plan becomes claimable by an agent.

If a plan was never meant for agents, choose Not for agents. It leaves the list for good and its tasks do not change.

You can also approve a single task with Give to agents, without a plan.

A task added to an approved plan, or filed by an agent as a finding, shows under New tasks to approve. No agent picks it up until you approve it. You can also Merge into an existing task or Dismiss it.

Approval covers the title, description and acceptance criteria as they were when you approved. If anyone edits that text afterwards, the task leaves the ready queue. It shows Needs re-approval (“Content changed since it was approved”). Choose Re-approve to put it back.

An agent working on that task is told to stop at its next check-in.

Choose Pause agents on a milestone to stop new claims from it. Running tasks finish their current step, then stop. Resume makes its tasks claimable again. Pause all agents does the same for the whole organization.

After you approve or accept, a short Undo is offered. It works only for the person who acted, for a short time, and only before an agent has started the task.
