Directory sync
Read the people in your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace directory and match them to team members in ProjectBrain.
Directory sync reads the people in your company directory so ProjectBrain can match them to team members. It works with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
It does not create logins or send invitations. People still join ProjectBrain through an invite.
Turn it on
Section titled “Turn it on”An admin turns it on at Settings > Integrations > Directory, for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, and picks how often it runs: every hour, daily or weekly.

What is synced
Section titled “What is synced”People only. From Microsoft 365 that includes name, email, job title, department, office and phone. From Google Workspace, suspended accounts are left out.
Groups are not synced. A person’s department is kept as a detail on their directory entry. It does not create departments in ProjectBrain.
How matching works
Section titled “How matching works”A directory person is matched to a team member by exact email first, then by a close match on name. Each person shows as Pending, Matched, Imported or Ignored on the directory users list.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”- People removed from your directory are not removed from ProjectBrain. Remove or deactivate them yourself.
- Directory sync matches team members. It does not change anyone’s role or access.
