Troubleshooting agent work
What the common states on the Agents page mean and what to do about them.
This feature is in beta. If you do not see it, ask your admin to turn it on for your organization.
Not connected to GitHub
Section titled “Not connected to GitHub”ProjectBrain cannot read this pull request link and will not check it. Usually the repository is not mapped to the project, the GitHub integration is not turned on, or the repository was removed from the GitHub installation. Ask someone who manages repositories to map it on the project’s code repositories screen.
Status not checked yet is different. ProjectBrain can read the link and has not fetched it yet. Choose Refresh status, or wait.
No repository mapped
Section titled “No repository mapped”A project lane under Active work shows No repository mapped when the project has no GitHub repository. Pull request states cannot show until one is mapped. People who manage repositories see Map one.
The task left the queue after an edit
Section titled “The task left the queue after an edit”Someone changed the title, description or acceptance criteria after it was approved. The task shows Needs re-approval, and any agent working on it was told to stop. Check the change, then choose Re-approve.
A claim expired
Section titled “A claim expired”The agent stopped checking in, often because its session closed. The task went back to the queue and another agent can claim it. If a task keeps failing it becomes Parked. Read what happened, fix the task if needed, then choose Put back.
Finished by an agent but still open
Section titled “Finished by an agent but still open”The agent marked the task done, but the task is still in an open column, or every subtask is finished but the parent is still open. Choose Close the task if the work is complete, or Send back to agents if it is not.
An agent cannot see the agent tools
Section titled “An agent cannot see the agent tools”The AI client connected before agents.work was added. Reconnect the ProjectBrain connection or start a new chat. See Turn it on.
Nothing is being picked up
Section titled “Nothing is being picked up”Check that the plan is approved, that the milestone is not Paused, and that Pause all agents is not on. A banner names who paused all agents and when.
