Notifications

The bell shows what needs you inside ProjectBrain. Some things also email you, and you can choose channels for wiki and workload notifications.

WhoEveryone. Each person gets their own notifications.Roles

Notifications tell you when something needs you: a review, a comment, a question, or a change on work you follow. They arrive in-app, in the bell at the top of the page, and some also arrive by email.

  1. Choose the bell to open your latest notifications.
  2. Choose a notification to go to the thing it is about.
  3. Choose Mark all read to clear the count, or View all to open the Notifications page.

On the Notifications page you can turn on Unread only, Mark read one at a time, Mark all as read, and Load more to go further back.

Some things only show in the bell. Others also email you, usually when someone is waiting on you personally. A few examples:

What happens Bell Email
A standup facilitator nudges you to post Yes Yes
Someone asks a question on your standup line Yes Yes
A blocker is assigned to you Yes No
A reminder before the standup cutoff Yes No
A blueprint you wrote is published or sent back Yes Yes

Reminders that go to everyone on a schedule stay in the bell. Email is kept for things that wait on you.

Two areas let you pick per event:

  • Settings > Notifications > Wiki: in-app and email for each wiki event. Email digest gathers unread wiki notifications into one email, even when you turned single emails off.
  • Settings > Notifications > Resources: in-app and email for workload notifications.

Changes save as soon as you make them.

  • You are never notified about your own action, such as nudging yourself.
  • A notification is only sent about something you can still see. If you lose access to a project, you stop getting notifications about it.
